Our relationship with the church

St Michael's and All Angels Church plays a vital and proactive role in the life of our school. Reverend Wilson, who is also one of our governors and Mark Lawrence, associate minister, who is our chair of governors and also a parent at school are regularly in school helping to forge positive relationships between the school and church. We visit the church on several special occasions during the year for example Harvest, Christmas, Easter and Graduation and value the links we have.

St Michael's Juniors was founded in 1854 as Twerton Parochial School and until World War II was situated on another site. Due to bombing in 1942 the school was moved around the community and subsequently moved to the present building in 1951 and became Twerton Church of England Junior School. Our school was renamed St Michael's Church of England Junior School in 1999 to recognise the good links with local Church and, in partnership, we continue to strive for excellence for our children and community.
Our school was renamed St Michael's Junior Church School when we joined the Bath & Wells Multi Academy Trust in April 2019.
